Perspective Tonal Studies

These are the drawings I did for Simons tonal task. We had multiple images to choose from so I wanted to pick one that challenged myself. I chose a Liam Wong Photograph as out of the four this was the one that showed the best representation of perspective. I feel that perspective is the thing I am weakest at in art and I need to get better!

I think that for what's supposed to be a quick study, the drawing is quite accurate to the source image and I am happy with the perspective in it. I had a small tutorial with Simon today and he showed me a way of doing perspective that I didn't before understand so I will be using that knowledge gained it all future drawings!

The colour study could be a lot better... I think the colours are correct however I would need to spend a lot more time on the piece making sure the colours are in the right places and the right amount of brightness and saturation needed. But like I said, for a quick study I feel like it is successful in showing what I needed.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out.
