Three Tone Studies

This task was with Simon this evening and was after a briefing about creating thumbnails and portraying our ideas and images across in a more simple efficient way. The task was to re create 2 images from a choice of 4 and I chose these as I thought they would challenge me the most! especially the first image. This is because it showed human form in it and I was wondering how I could have portrayed that well in only three tones.

I did not have many issues with this task, the only thing I would change when doing this task again is taking more care in choosing where the tones would go in the drawing. Like for the mountainous range I think I could have put more care in choosing the tones in the mountains to create more depth! Also following the form of the clouds better to copy and relate to the image more.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation.
