BSW - CAA - Walking Animation

Walking Man Animation

Bellow are the GIF's of the walking animation task set by Nat on Monday the 16th.

These animations were really fun to make as walking was something I had wanted to begin to learn from the start. I took a more cartoonish approach with it as I thought it would give the subject more character with its bouncing steps.

The first GIF shows the animation of man walking but focusing on the head bop and that's why it looks like he is sliding across the floor.

The Second shows the man walking 'on the spot' using the frames from the first animation and stacking them on top of each other creating the effect. I added a secondary animation to it with a simple pole which aids the effect of him walking.

The final was the most time consuming where he is 'realistically' walking along the floor. This effect is created by taking the frames from the first animation but using the feet and the anchor points for the different frames.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out.
