BSW - CAA - Maya Organic Form Character

 Organic Form in Maya

Below are images at the stage I am at with the organic form tutorial lesson with Simon. I am caught up to where he is and I could do the rest using the toolkit tutorial however I don't want to as I like how Simon works with describing what he is using and why other then just following and having questions like the tutorials.

I am enjoying creating this character as it is the first character I am making in Maya. I like how I am learning new techniques whilst making this monster and I will be using them in my final street scene definitely.  We are making the legs and making final adjustments to the character on Monday so the finished piece will be up then...

Also to add a personal touch I made the eye red and I will make the final colour for the character blue.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
