BSW - CAA - Maya Street Scene Development

Main Building Update

Below is the updated version of the front wall of my main hero building in my street scene. I wanted to re do this lower part of the building as the previous one was very messy with the vertices and faces. There were a lot of extra hidden faces where I had accidentally double clicked the extrude tool. This caused extra faces and geometry that was not wanted therefore when going to map out the UVs I couldn't do it.

I figured that there were these extra faces after a tutorial with Simon where he was making the monster and had a different setting for selecting faces where it showed points in the middle of the faces rather then having to select the whole faces. I liked this setting and used it myself and this is when I noticed that these squares where on the corners and edges of my face which meant there were the hidden ones!

Instead of editing the face and trying to save the geometry I started the face again as I knew this would one, be quicker and two, I wanted to anyway to clean it up.

The First is the new model and you really can not tell a massive difference. However if you went into the old save and saw the geometry you would be able to see the big mess it was...

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
