BSW - CAA - Maya Street Scene Progression

 Maya Street Scene Progression

Here is the progress I have made today. I started with modelling 4 different rocks using the soft selection tool to move the vertices, did there UV's and textured them. I needed the rocks to look smoother as the city was described to be over a dried up river or water source so they would be smooth because of erosion. Then I placed a ground plain and lifted the sides of it to act as the valley floor of my scene that the rocks would sit on. I made different types of rock formations to add variation to the scene. I placed the rock formation to cover the area in which the viewer would see through the shot cam. I took renders throughout to ensure I would get the result I wanted.

I also have completed the textures for my houses in the scene and have played with the lighting to best work with and bring out the textures to make them pop. I really like how the textures have turned out and have followed the concept art as best I can whilst making improvements where needed.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
