BSW - CAA - Soundscapes Project Images

 Soundscapes assigned Images

The images below are the images that were assigned to me using the random number generator in todays briefing. I have an idea of each images sound and what things around my house I will use.

Image 1

This to me looks like a splash. So I will be recording different liquid splashes using thick and thin liquids as I feel this image shows more of a thick object. The colours are quite tropical so I might use the sounds of a beach in Hawaii etc. The texture of the image looks quite reptilian so I may use sounds of lizards or snakes paired with the other sounds. Maybe the sound I will produce will be a splash followed by a splash of different sounds in a wave like 'motion'.

Image 2

There is not a lot going in this image. I get a feeling of wind or more of a swooshing motion. This implies a wind like gust sound. I get warm colours here, some of which correspond to a fire therefore I may add a slight fire sound backing the gusts. The image shows an empty plain with only a small subject so I may make the sounds come in in short bursts representing the small brush like strokes that is in the image. That is also another idea of a sound, brush on paper or other surfaces.

Image 3

This image instantly gives me electrical vibes and the way in which the subject is connected could represent how electricity connects against two tesla coils... The bristles in the image look ridged and sharp so glass or pottery could be used in some way here. The yellow spots in the middle of the subject looks like the hearts of the image so I may add pulsating sounds. This will be the hardest sound to composite out of the three as with the others I got instant ideas.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
