BSW - CAA - Story Initial Ideas

 Story Initial Ideas

For the story unit we have been given three random things to make up our story. A character, a setting, and a prop. We have to include all three of these things as the main subject of our story.

My character is a stuntman, my setting is a lighthouse and my prop is a bomb.

I instantly had a couple ideas to link these things together. These ideas include;

The bomb is shot out of a cannon / catapult at the lighthouse to destroy it. The stuntman is riding on the bomb as it flies to control it into the lighthouse. The whole scene could be a movie scene so there are cameras and lights behind the scenes and this adds context as to why the bomb is being shot at the lighthouse, it is for a film! The idea of a film scene also opens up a lot of camera ideas that will make more sense for the animation.

I have come up with a few reasons as to which the lighthouse is getting destroyed. These reasons include;

Villains are attacking the lighthouse and the only way to finish them off is the bomb.

Something needs to be destroyed instantly so its the last resort for the army or military.

An alien artifact has landed and has started to corrupt the land so the bomb is the only way they can get rid of it.

Or my favourite one so far, a new final form strand of COVID has been made at the lighthouse in some way so the scientists created a bomb to finally destroy it. This is relevant to todays problems and may connect more to the viewers.

The bomb itself could be a bomb like an old style shape atomic bomb or it could be a vehicle. The stuntman would either ride, fly or drive the bomb to the lighthouse. An idea I had other then the cannon or catapult was that the stuntman would drive a speedboat up a ramp into the lighthouse to make a cool stunt scene. The ramp also could be suspended by a military helicopter or something like that!

I am really happy with the subjects I have got for this project and am aspiring to make it the best I can...

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

  Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

  Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
