BSW - CAA - Walking Object Animation

 Inanimate Object Animation

These are the animation from todays class with Nat. The objective was to have the object - a flour sack - be animated and to feel like it has weight to it. I feel as though I have achieved this in some aspects like the walking part, as the sack is slow, and heavy on its 'feet'. The first animation shows the sack struggling to get up, failing twice and falling the other direction until finally getting up and walking away with a limp. I think I needed more movement before the movements like Raising the feet before trying to get up so it could gain some momentum.

The second animation shows the sack interacting with 2 different weight boxes. One is light, therefore when the sack pushes it it goes flying and it falls over. The sack then gets up and walks to the heavy object then this is where I think the idea of weight of the sack goes a bit mad. The sack jumps to it ready to push it  but because it is heavy it doesn't move and the sack compresses and falls to the floor.

I am happy with the 'story' for these animations however the movement needs some work to help get that feel of weight!

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
