BSW - CAA - Change Of Plans

 1-2-1 With Justin

After todays 1 - 2 - 1 with Justin, I realised just how bad my story writing abilities are. The main premise of the story was there however when explained to a fresh set of eyes, it really helped tighten up my story. Justin put a lot of logic into my story which meant changing a lot of it!

There is now no cannon, no COVID and the plot has drastically changed adding a whole new ending to the plot twist of revealing the movie scene. He has taken the ideas I had and made them more believable and into a whole better story line adding logic to make sense of the crazy ideas that I thought of before.

So the story now is along the lines of this...

The news is playing on a tv and it is showing the new ground breaking lighthouse. it shows its power and how it can change the world. its the only one of its kind. The shot zooms out and reveals the terrorist base looking dodgy and rough with cracked windows, poorly lit rooms and broken furniture everywhere. One of the terrorists point to the tv telling the others showing there interest in the lighthouse to weaponize it. A terrorist calls in a plane and the plane is shown taking off showing them to be travelling. The viewer will automatically know it will be to the lighthouse.

The next scene will show the lighthouse with its lights on rotating and suddenly the light focuses on one spot in the water moving aimlessly at the moment. Because of the focused light the water is seen to be boiling and steam is being emitted from where the light hits. The scene transitions to the control room in the lighthouse where the dial for the power is being turned up. the camera pans from the dial to the lighthouse keeper who is turning it, to a gun being held to his head held by a terrorist ordering him to do so. One of the terrorists points to the city out of the window and the lighthouse keeper after some persuasion, changes the course of the beam and the light is seen to move slowly towards the city!

This is where the army comes in. The Radars go off like before however detecting heat change in the city to dangerous temperatures. They are also getting all there phones ringing in the background to show panic. Scene showing a board room meeting with a whiteboard with plans drawn onto it. The stuntman explaining the plan to the rest of the squad. There plan is to fly the helicopter over the lighthouse and drop a bomb onto it, destroying the lighthouse and the terrorists inside.

The next scene shoes the military helicopter on route the the lighthouse flying over seas and shows an inside view of the bomb strapped in and the squad sitting down. Camera emphasises the release lever. Scene transitions back to the lighthouse where the terrorists begin to hear the Heli and panic. They realise its the military and start to redirect the light to the Heli to take it down. The helicopter is shown dodging the beam using evasive manoeuvres and finally gets to where is need to be almost over the top of the lighthouse.

Back in the Heli the stuntman begins to set the timer for the bomb to explode however the system is not working therefore they can not release it otherwise it will simply not explode. He begins to look very serious and explains he needs to manually detonate the bomb meaning he needs to go down with it! The team try's to tell him not to but it needs to be done so he doesn't hesitate and grabs a parachute and hops on the bomb. He orders one of the squad members to pull the release handle to drop him and the bomb down. The guy pulls the lever and he drops. Scene shows the Heli over the top of the lighthouse still dodging the beam and shows the bomb and the stuntman falling down.

Once the bomb is close enough the stuntman manually starts the bomb detonation and instantly pulls his parachute leaving the huge explosion below him as he floats down to the destroyed lighthouse. He lands and the terrorists are shown to be crawling out of the rubble injured and bloody, the stuntman proceeds to approach them and starts crazily beating on one of them. The director shouts "cut"! The stuntman doesn't listen and still punishes the terrorist actors!

Scene shows the film crew and staff trying to get him off of the actors and the camera zooms to the stuntman's face where his expressions are crazed and angry. He is confused as to why they are helping the terrorists. The scene transitions and fades to him still making the expressions carrying on from the last scene however when the camera zooms out it shows the stuntman in a straight jacket in a soft room! The film was all in his head and he believes there to still be terrorists out there trying to take the city over...

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
