BSW - CAA - My Audience

 My Audience

For my educational animation, I want to make sure I am engaging the correct audience. I want people that will be interested in the subject but also will appreciate the effort and work that has gone into making it, therefore it will keep them watching. I will be aiming this animation at GCSE students, years 10 and 11. I feel as though this will be the best audience for my animation as they will be needing this information to understand the subject so I want to make it interesting and more fun for them. I am doing this as I can relate to them. When I was in GCSE level education, Science was a dragging subject that I personally found boring. The presentations and films shown were basic and boring and all consisted of the same things.

I want to do something different to this and show a story instead of straight facts and information so I will be leaving words out of it. I will show the information in the animation through the story of Finn and the problems he overcomes and solves. This will mean that the more people follow the story the more they will uncover and learn. I feel as though the GCSE students will be best suited for this as they know they need the knowledge to pass tests. That is why I want to help them keep lessons more interested by adding a twist to the regular videos they are used to watching...

These are some examples of what students are shown. They all have similar texts, images, and quality of presentation. I hope to differ from this as much as possible by creating a unique animation.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
