BSW - CAA - Project Three - Fantastic Voyage

 Project Three - Fantastic Voyage

The Fantastic Voyage Project is definitely not what I expected it to be. I was thinking it would be something where we had a lot of free reign to put our skills to the test however we are being tested in a very different way. We are tasked to create an educational video up to 3 minutes long and the theme is a choice of three things all under the subject of science.

The first is to do with different types of energy. This would be a good choice as I can choose a specific energy process and study and make a fun animation to do with it. I was thinking of different ways to do this and was struggling to find any kind of way to make an animation that would be fun to watch or fun to make for me. If not another subject this would be my choice.

The second option we had is plastics, the way in which they are formed and how they effect the environment and world. When explaining the things included I understood it all however struggled to see potential in an animation. The main things to talk about would be pollution and the usage of natural resources. Again I did not see how I could interpret it into a fun thing to watch or make.

The third option we had is evolution. Now this instantly stood out to me as a fun theme to create a animation on. I enjoyed this theme in science in school compared to the others and found myself most interested in it. For this project I want to do this as I will put more effort in as a result of finding it more fun to work with. I will be able to create the best story possible and be more creative if I find the theme fun. I feel as though I will pick one of Darwin's theories and studies for this animation as that is what I believe to be true and is what I will be most passionate about.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
