BSW - CAAyr2 - MOOM Character Introduction

 MOOM Character Introduction

We were introduced to the Moom character this morning, playing around with the rig, creating different poses. The model is a generic character with a large head and a disproportionate body. This means that the art style of our animations using this character will be cartoony and Moom itself is made to be in a cartoon style. The rig has already been made on the model too with many features to be able to position it. It has facial controls which are in-depth and all the controls you would need for the body. As a result of the character being cartoony and disproportionate, there is a lot of opportunity for squash and stretch in the animation. This also means that the comedy side of the animation will come slightly more open for us if used correctly!

Below are the screenshots from the session.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
