BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

 Character Design Sub Tasks

We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted.

We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to carry a dagger to commit sacrifices to the gods and they were also middle-class wealthy people. They were not wealthy enough to live in the temples etc. however they could afford the nice rugs and pottery. I was really happy with the perspective of this piece and what it was lacking was personality. We see that it is a lived-in house however not so much who is in it...

  1. great perspective, the interior gives much more character, really strong and the exterior has strong hard edges, the interior is thought with 3D in mind and the exterior looks like a stylized backdrop of a 2D fighting game.

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
