BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

 Character Design Sub Tasks

This week's tasks were very helpful towards learning the anatomy and form of the body of humans and animals. We had to act out certain poses and draw them in a very simple form, following the direction and flow of the shape that the body was making. We looked t where joints would be and how we could add to the skeleton-like drawing by looking further into shape theory.

We then looked at drawing animal anatomy and I got a rabbit to research. The first drawing I did was quite good showing the bone structure and position of a rabbit standing up. However, after using a second image as a reference I messed up the form of the animal slightly making it look off. Then I chose a more dynamic pose to research and it turned out a lot better with a lot better understanding of joints and form.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
