BSW - CAAyr2 - Post Presentation Changes

Post-Presentation Changes On Wednesday we had our group presentation to the class. I feel as though it went really well, we got a good couple of laughs and a good crit from Simon. There were a few things that he suggested that needed change like the beams from the UFOs. The UFO beams consist of a lambert texture on a cylinder, I tried to use a ramp on the color node to create the transparent effect however I didn't realize you could put a ramp on the transparency node itself. That is what I did and it makes the animation that bit further out of a previz-like stage...

BSW - CAAyr2 - Film Review - The Incredibles

The Incredibles The Incredibles is a really great film that I grew up watching, so looking at it in a film review way is a lot different. We are looking at story vs plot which means looking at how the who, what, and where links with the how, when, and why...  The plot framing for the Incredibles is in a quest format as you are following the classic hero, in this case, the hero family tries and defeat an evil villain

BSW - CAAyr2 - Film Review - Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind This week's film was a pretty weird one. We focused on non-linear narrative and this film was pretty much the pinnacle of the genre. It starts the film showing the end of the film, the whole film goes full loop. There are flashbacks included and it jumps from memory to memory of the main character.  Joel and Clementine begin a relationship after a train journey together. However, having had their memories clinically erased, they do not remember their past. They come to find out that they have already been together and that they erased each other from their lives using new technology. I enjoyed the film however watching through it was pretty confusing until the end when the plot came full loop and tied up all the loose ends from the different memory timelines.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Collaboration Conclusion

Collaboration Conclusion Creating the final animation and editing it all together including sounds and video manipulation in premier pro gave me a lot of experience to carry forward. I really enjoy bringing moom to life focusing on the key elements of animation like anticipation and follow through for each movement. I feel as though I have created a smooth animation and will hopefully include the comedic aspects of the brief we were given. The models imported in are great and I am really happy with my team's work ethic and dedication. Making final edits on the animation, seeing it all come together felt really good and I got the sense of achievement as this project comes to an end... Below are various images that I have taken throughout the process of the project, creating the animation and small models.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Life Drawing

Life Drawing This week's life drawing session was very good for me. I usually avoid doing faces and heads as it is my weakest part of the life drawing process. I forced myself to do faces and heads this time and I think it went really well. I focused on thinking of the shapes angles and forms of the face and not the face itself.
