BSW - CAAyr2 - Film Review - Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

This week's film was a pretty weird one. We focused on non-linear narrative and this film was pretty much the pinnacle of the genre. It starts the film showing the end of the film, the whole film goes full loop. There are flashbacks included and it jumps from memory to memory of the main character.

Joel and Clementine begin a relationship after a train journey together. However, having had their memories clinically erased, they do not remember their past. They come to find out that they have already been together and that they erased each other from their lives using new technology.

I enjoyed the film however watching through it was pretty confusing until the end when the plot came full loop and tied up all the loose ends from the different memory timelines.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
