BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design - Main Character Costume Variations

Main Character Costume Variations

After a small break for Christmas, I have been working on my character bible a lot, thinking about the next moves to progress towards the finished product. Taking the revised designs for the main character I have created the final design for him. I wanted to produce different variations of the costume to give me the most choice.

I went with the red costume as I think it pops the most and it draws the eye more than the others. I made the addition of the water tank and the hose for the story as he will be using the items to overcome different obstacles throughout. After creating this character I noticed a problem where the joints and hinges do not really make sense. So I made a change where I put a more ball-like look to the ball joints.

As you see here the joints now look more reasonable and believable.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
