BSW - CAAyr2 - Concepts PT4 - Character Development

Character Development

I have been working on creating the base body for the character. I drew up a couple concepts in silhouette form to focus on the base shape.

I like the variety I created using these silhouettes and I used the same base concept for each. The second body catches my eye more when looking through these and I took it into further development. I think the shape of the body with the horn-like bone structures along with the ribs that extrude out go along with the sinister look of the head and the eyes. I think the skinnier, more tapered body also fits with this chilling theme. Next thing is to create the turnarounds and finally the clothes for the character.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
