BSW - CAAyr3 - Summer Goals

 Summer Goals

I have set myself goals over the summer break to improve upon my skills. I would like to get a lot better at modeling, and further understanding of edge flow, and topology. I do get topology in some ways however creating more complex high poly geometries with intrusions and creases for example I would struggle with as a result of simply not doing it before. So I need to practice and practice until I find my way of working on different projects.

I also want to further my understanding of texturing. This includes understanding the different maps and also understanding the hypershade. It is all still a bit confusing to me at the moment. I really want to get naturally good at the texturing process as I realise it is such a crucial part of making a model look professional.

The next thing I want to get practice in is editing software, such as premier pro, which I have the most amount of knowledge in, and after-effects. I want to get a lot better at these as I will be able to make the animations and renders so much better using the effects and filters combined with the knowledge of transitions and SFX etc.

I will be looking into tutorials and toolkit videos to further my skills, I will take notes and put them into practice creating my own projects.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
