BSW - CAAyr3 - Re Working Lobe'ous

 Re Working Lobe'ous

Now that I have the base for the character, I realize I need to go and complete a few more passes to be able to add more detail and interest to him. The base final character is really nice and clean and I like how it is but then from there I can upgrade the look whilst upgrading my skills at the same time.

Here are 3 sketches I worked on using the base image.

I think the third sketch is a lot more adventurous with using lumps and hanging bits for detail. I took it to then create a more polished look. One thing I need to work on is my shading in photoshop as I feel I have picked up a lot of bad habits that I really want to sort out.

Overall I am happy with the process I have taken and the freeness of my ideas. I would be happy to then take this further into the modelling stage.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Design Sub Tasks

Character Design Sub Tasks We were tasked to give character to things that already existed. I was given the Guggenheim museum which is a very unique building already with a lot of character. I have given the prompt military so I thought of hard angles and uniformity, which is something this building did not have... When looking at the building for a while and thinking of the prompt I saw a battleship. With the long platform and the bridge-like feature, I figured that is what I will turn it into. I am happy with what I produced here letting myself be creative and lose which I am working very hard on. The main problem that Justin had with this is that it was unrealistic... It is more of a stylized piece rather than an actual thing people would work on and use, which is fine because it was not specified that realism was wanted. We were then tasked with creating an interior of a character given to us. Mine was an Aztec priest so I started researching what that entailed. They used to ...

BSW - CAA - Finches Concept Art - In progress

Finches Concept Art - In progress I have been continuing the finches piece after the research I carried out and I have finished another finch. I have done this one in a more cartoony style as I am exploring my choices for the animation. It has bold, consistent lines and boxed colours to make it pop and it has a big eye that makes it stand out. As of now, I am swaying towards the cartoon style more as I feel like a video for educational purpose, it will draw more people in...
