BSW - CAAyr2 - Premise Pre Viz Progression

Premise Pre Viz Progression I have been taking the time to create some previz models and environments. I have a lot more things to do for the previz however I will easily be able to smash them out as a result of the small number of details in the models.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Dissertation Proposal Progression 6

Dissertation Proposal Progression 5 I am writing this after going to a small lesson set up for proposal help, getting together research, and giving us a general direction. I have got some books to read and some articles to find and look through and by next week's 1-1, I hope to have some base research done, with quotes and points ready for analysis all ready to be able to put into a structure. After speaking to my peer, I have found a really good structure to follow and I will try to follow it best I can whilst looking at my research. I have just picked up the book "Representation" and will be looking into it making notes on interesting things I find. think about how tattoos were used in a negative way Representation and othering get research together, present it, organize it  orientalism - Edward Said - othering - Racism Colonial theory

BSW - CAAyr2 - Substance Test Model

Substance Test Model I have played around with texturing a test model on substance painter. I have a good understanding on how the program works as it is very similar to other software we have been using. It is a very useful tool in the design process of a model.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Character Test Models PT3 - Veins

Character Test Models PT3 - Veins I have added some veins to the test models in Mudbox to then be able to export normal maps of them. This means that when it comes to bringing the model back in Maya in a low polyform, the details will still show...

BSW - CAAyr2 - Introduction To Mudbox 2

Introduction To Mudbox 2 We were tasked to create an organic object of our choosing so because of my breakfast... I chose a sausage roll. I am getting more familiar with using the sculpt layers to get the finer details and after a recent lesson is understanding the normal maps to create a detailed look to a low poly model.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Dissertation Proposal Progression 5

Dissertation Proposal Progression 5 For the proposal, I had some thoughts on the subject. I have thought about the fact that I wanted to do prison tattoos as a subject however I think that it is simply just not the direction I want to go down. I have been thinking about the relationship with prisoners and jobs and realized the very niche link between that and tattoos so on a walk, I have thought of a potential alternative path to go down.  I want to stick with the relationship between jobs and tattoos however link them together using noncreative professional jobs ie; banking, accounting, mp's, managerial positions. I think the best one to go with here is the managerial position. This path I think will be a lot easier to go down a research rabbit hole as there will be a lot of first-hand stories from people that may have been turned down by companies because of their tattoos. I could also at some point in the essay compare the noncreative job employment rate with tattoos to t...

BSW - CAAyr2 - Dissertation Proposal Progression 4

Dissertation Proposal Progression 4 After looking into my previous plan for the proposal I have realized my worry was true and to do that niche of an idea will lead to me going insane. I am going to start my research with something that will definitely make the proposal and that is the history of tattoos. https://authoritytattoo.com/history-of-tattoos/ The oldest evidence of human tattoos is believed to be from between  3370 BC and 3100 BC .  Otzi the Iceman was discovered in September 1991.  Otzi’s body has a total of  61 tattoos .  Locations where tattooing practices have been recorded on human remains, include Alaska, Mongolia, Greenland, Egypt, China, Sudan, Russia, and the Philippines. Some of these date back to 2100 BC. C emeteries across western China in the province of Xinjiang revealed mummies with tattooed skin. Mummies date as far back as  2100 BC , while others are considerably younger, dating to around 550 BC. Within ancient Chinese prac...

BSW - CAAyr2 - Premise Progression Thoughts

Premise Progression Thoughts I feel as though I am at a point where I need to reflect on my project. I need to write thoughts on where I am at and what I now need to be focusing on. I have completed many concept arts on the exteriors and orthographic drawings of the space station and the environments for my project however now I need to get on with interior drawings to realize the space in a 3d environment. I have already completed some prop designs for the house and some drawings of the lobby of the space station but need to continue further. I then need to focus on getting an animatic done consisting of a storyboard and put together with basic sounds and effects. In between creating the animatic, I may complete some 3d prop design in a basic pre-viz form to be ready to complete a pre-visualization. I will need to find sounds for the animation and should not be too hard as I want a quiet, eerie feel with an almost foggy sound. I need a heartbeat sound along with screen buzzing, ...

BSW - CAAyr2 - Dissertation Proposal Progression 3

Dissertation Proposal Progression 3 I finished a 1-1 with Umut and It really helped me with the direction of my proposal. I already knew what I wanted to do with the subject of my essay however I lacked the direction of where to go next. I found that after my last essay that I can not go too broad with my subject, like time... I wanted to do something with tattoos, so Umut gave me a structure to follow for my research. I need to first research the origins of tattoos to set the theme then go into my question. This is going to be to do with prison tattoos and how they affect convicts getting jobs. But then I need to then find a specific job role. At first, being this specific confused me as I thought I could not possibly write a dissertation of 8000 words on something that specific. My question will be complete when I find that specific job role...  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/unlock-opportunity-employer-information-pack-and-case-studies/employing-prisoners-and-...

BSW - CAAyr2 - Dissertation Proposal Progression 2

Dissertation Proposal Progression 2 For my proposal I need some good primary research therefore I want to conduct an interview. This will allow me to go to many people and get their opinions on my subject. The good thing about interviewing is that it gets personal, non-bias results, and conducting it on multiple people means I can get good comparisons. I will choose a broad range of ages for the interviews as a result of the subject of tattoo acceptability relating to many different eras. Potential Questions For Script Name: Age: Place of birth: Do you have any tattoos yourself?: Did they have any impact on getting a job?:

BSW - CAAyr2 - Dissertation Proposal Progression 1

Dissertation Proposal Progression 1 I have been thinking about my proposal after the lecture with Katie Mander the other day, deciding on my question. I think what I want my question to be is, 'How are tattoos accepted into different social constructs?' I will be conducting interviews with different people who I know either like or dislike tattoos and ask them questions to find out why this is the case. My grandad for example hates tattoos however his daughter, my mum loves them and has many. after taking interviews I could create a chart or a graph showing different ages and whether they like them or not.  Other things that I will be looking at include a tv show called 'needles and pins' hosted by artist Grace Neutral that looks at tattoos in different cultures, gangs, races, etc., and how they have come to be who they are using tattoos. For example, gangs in japan have o keep the tattoos covered as it is illegal however they are actually mostly covered in full back ...

BSW - CAAyr2 - Toolkit 2 - JPJ Skinning Hand

Toolkit 2 - JPJ Skinning After completing the basic weighting of the character I have progressed further on the hand for him. I have done some blending which stops the geometry from overlapping the best I can.

BSW - CAAyr2 - Concepts PT19 - Interior Prop Designs

Interior Prop Designs I have put together some quick sketches of what some props may look like for the interior of the main character's house. These objects are quite simple therefore they will not require any orthographs to create in Maya.
